Baobab Oil – Benefits And Uses 3

We always hear about the tall and sturdy baobab tree, but today we’re going to be throwing more light on a product of the baobab tree, that is, baobab oil. Baobab oil has become increasingly popular over the years and can be used in various ways ranging from hair and skin care to even dental care (but we’re here mainly for the skin and hair!)
Popularly known as the ‘Tree of Life’, The baobab tree, has a very long-life span, is believed to have originally grown in Africa and is often associated with life and good things. (P.S. Did you know the scientific name of Baobab was Adansonia digitata L.?) It is the source of baobab oil, which is obtained from the tree’s fruit seeds.

Baobab oil can easily be identified by its characteristic golden colour, thick texture and earthy fragrance. It is rich in many vitamins including vitamins C, D and A, as well as calcium and potassium…nutrients that are essential in hair and skincare. This nutrient-rich oil pairs well with other oils such as jojoba oil, lemon oil and lavender oil. So, what are some of the benefits of baobab oil?

  • Anti-ageing properties

Due to its high antioxidant and Vitamin C content, baobab oil is easily absorbed by the skin without producing much grease, and is ideal for keeping skin firm and nourished, which in turn helps to reduce dryness and wrinkles. Less wrinkles and dryness mean youthful and glowing skin, making baobab a definite must-have in your cosmetic bag!

  • Healing properties

Baobab oil also helps to treat skin conditions such as acne, eczema and blemishes as it helps the skin cells to stay renewed and healthy. It has also become a preferred go-to skin cleanser for many people due its pure and skin-friendly nature. Did someone say smooth and healthy skin? Baobab oil does the trick, whilst keeping your skin protected.

  • Enhances hair growth

Baobab oil can work some magic for any hair type, whether its dry, damaged or needs some shine. It can easily be found in some haircare products but can also work well on its own. Constant use of baobab oil can help keep your hair looking bouncy and nourished whilst leaving you with a relaxing fragrance. It also helps to keep the hair moisturized and is very gentle on the hair’s roots. If you have a constantly dry scalp, no worries…baobab oil has a soothing effect when applied on your scalp and helps to reduce any form of irritation you may feel. Pamper your hair and scalp with our range of baobab oil from brands such as R&R and Nokware skincare.

  • Improves the appearance of stretch marks

Remember the ability of baobab oil to keep skin firm as we mentioned earlier? Well this comes in handy for stretch marks as well. You may already be seeing some signs of stretch marks, but not to worry…that doesn’t take away from your beauty! Plus, baobab oil when applied consistently everyday can help improve the appearance of these stretch marks.

  • Relaxation

Baobab oil is also known for its mild and therapeutic properties, making it a great option for massages and relaxation as well. Feeling stressed after a hectic day? Why not rub some baobab oil on your skin, lie back and indulge in the lingering fragrance?
