Essential oils have become more popular over the years and are often used in aromatherapy, health, beauty, daily activities etc. These oils which are known for their distinct scents and purity, are usually obtained from plants (flowers, peels, bark, leaves etc.) and combine all the vital nutrients usually gained from these plants.

The benefits and uses of essential oils are endless, but we’ll try to narrow  it down to just a few:

 Nourishes hair and skin

Essential oils serve as a great and natural way of keeping your hair and skin vitalized and radiant without having to worry about side effects. They provide several beauty benefits such as keeping your hair moisturized, repairing irritated or chapped skin, helping to keep the skin youthful and protecting the skin from harsh elements such as sun rays and generally improving or sustaining your skin’s appearance.  Boosts the immune system

Essential oils are believed to play a role in boosting the immune system due to their antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties. Their fragrances also help to create an atmosphere of serenity and pleasure whilst uplifting your mood in the process. Examples of oils usually used for this are chamomile oil, lavender, sweet almond oil, rose oil and frankincense. They also help in making your sleep even more restful.


With so much going on these days and the world getting more cluttered by the minute, it’s necessary to occasionally take some time off for some cleansing, including our bodies and homes, and essential oils are one safe way of doing that due to their antiseptic and antibacterial properties. Peppermint, cinnamon, lemon, eucalyptus, and ginger oils are just a few of some of the oils that can be used not only to flush out your system but also ease any stuffiness you may feel in your home.

Essential oils also aid in making your daily hygiene routines such a shower more soothing and long-lasting, whilst maintaining a fresh and sweet-smelling scent. They can be used as natural fragrances (perfumes) as well, such as jasmine oil and lavender oil.
